Cynthia Chambers is a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor (LCPC) and the founder of Safe Space Mental Health LLC. She has experience providing psychotherapy to children, adolescents, adults, and seniors. Cynthia obtained a Master of Arts Degree in Clinical Psychology from the Illinois School of Professional Psychology (ISPP) at Argosy University. With over 10 years of experience, Cynthia has treated a variety of conditions, including ADHD and other conditions seen in childhood, life transitions, mood disorders, grief and loss, trauma, and stress.

Cynthia has provided individual, family and group psychotherapy in a variety of environments, including private practice and the school, home, community-based agency, and senior living facility setting. Prior to establishing Safe Space Mental Health LLC, Cynthia worked within the community mental health sector as a Quality Administrator and Clinical Operations Manager, acting as a conduit between systems to ensure clients received quality care. She also worked in private practice as a psychotherapist providing therapy to individuals throughout the lifespan.

As a direct service provider, Cynthia utilizes an eclectic approach, pulling from a variety of treatment paradigms, including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, (CBT) Psychoeducation, Motivational Interviewing, and Mindfulness. Cynthia has completed Level 1 in the Theraplay and Marschak Interaction Method, and utilizes a Trauma-Informed and Harm Reduction approach when working with clients. Cynthia also provides treatment in grief and trauma as a Certified Grief-Informed Professional (CGP) and Certified Clinical Trauma Professional (CCTP). Cynthia believes that providing a non-judgmental, safe, and secure environment that focuses on a client’s strengths, fosters growth and helps recipients reach their fullest potential.
